Vernon Hills, IL/Reno, NV – Tim Murphy, PLS and Jerry D. Juarez, PLS have each been elected to executive positions with their state surveying associations. Their terms begin in 2015.
Tim Murphy, PLS, who serves as regional survey manager for Manhard Consulting, has been elected to serve as president-elect of the Illinois Professional Land Surveyors Association (IPLSA) for 2015. This one year term will conclude in February of 2016, at which time Tim will assume the position of president.
In both positions, Tim will be a member of the eight person executive committee of the IPLSA. The executive committee oversees the IPLSA and makes decisions that represent and promote the interests of the surveying profession.
Jerry D. Juarez, PLS, survey manager for Manhard Consulting, currently serves as secretary for the Nevada Association of Land Surveyors. His term ends in 2016 at which time he will serve as president-elect for one year followed by a one year term as president.
In addition to his elected positions with the Nevada Association of Land Surveyors, Jerry serves as chair of the Trig-Star Program. The Trig-Star Program is an annual high school mathematics competition sponsored by the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) and is based on the practical application of Trigonometry. The program recognizes the best students from high schools throughout the nation. The program was developed with the intent of promoting land surveying as a profession.
