Manhard provided civil engineering, surveying, permitting assistance and landscape architecture services for this 9,000 SF early childhood learning facility on +/-0.3-acre site on the corner of W. Wilson Ave and Ashland Ave.in the Ravenswood neighborhood of Chicago.

The school inhabits a new building, which required the demolition of the 120-year old historic Buddhist temple. The corner of the proposed development was an unregulated development per the Chicago stormwater code and no stormwater management was required. However, the site was located in an area with drainage issues. Manhard worked with the Chicago Department of Water Management to design partial detention for the site to minimize the new developments impact on the local drainage issues. Manhard also worked with the client to design the proposed improvements around an earth retention system that was utilized to protect the single-family residence to the south of the project.
