The Canadian National Railway plans to redevelop a portion of its existing rail complex. The proposed redevelopment will include an industrial park to accommodate distribution, warehousing, manufacturing, and crossdock facilities on approximately 500 acres in Harvey, Illinois. Direct connection to Canadian National’s rail network and Chicago Intermodal Terminal will allow for in-park movement of containers, significantly reducing dray and handling costs.
Manhard provided master planning services for this industrial park redevelopment with the objective of identifying property requirements, infrastructure needs (including water and wastewater assessment), operational flow, and design details. Manhard prepared a Conceptual Site Plan which included proposed distribution facilities, track layout, paved areas, gate facilities, maintenance facilities, detention ponds, and site access information.
The completed Master Plan will become the basis for the design of the next phase of the project.
